Public Transportation
Polk County is centrally located in the heart of East Texas Forest Country. Major expressways accessible in the county are U.S. Highway 59 and Hwy190.  Interstate 10, which runs East and West through Houston, can be reached within an hours drive.
Approximately 50 miles of rail used by Union Pacific runs parallel to U.S. Highway 59.  Bush Intercontinental Airport, the fourth largest airport in the world, is located 55 miles from Livingston (approximately a 45 minute drive).

Livingston Municipal Airport, a general utility airport, is situated on 90.385 acres of land owned by the City of Livingston. The land accommodates runways, hangar access taxiways, and aircraft parking aprons. It serves corporate, governmental, recreational, residential, student and private pilot activities and continues to be an essential component in the economic development of the City of Livingston, Lake Livingston and Polk County. 

Brazos Transit, a general public transportation provider covering 16 counties in Central and East Texas.  Demand and response service is available throughout Polk County.
