Continuing Education
Polk County offers several means for continuing education.  Polk County has three Libraries; Murphy Memorial Library in Livingston, Mickey Reily Public Library in Corrigan and Onalaska Public Library in Onalaska.  Each one offers services like free internet access, copy and fax service and books on tape.

The Angelina College System offers evening classes at the Livingston High School and will soon be one of the educational facilities offering classes at the Polk County College when it opens.  Other nearby Universities like Sam Houston State in Huntsville (45 minutes from Livingston) and Stephen F. Austin State in Nacogdoches (60 minutes from Livingston) are proposed to offer satellite classes at the Polk County College as well.  Currently, both Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin Universities offer on-line continuing education.  For specific programs and classes offered by each of these Universities, please click on the name of the facility above.

Polk County offers many other means for continuing education, including a variety of volunteer and natural resource and environmental avenues like the newly formed Master Naturalist program.

Our most exciting news is the plans for our Polk County College and Conference Center.  With grant funding and continuing support from our community, this facility will soon become a reality.  For more information on the Polk County Higher Education and Technical Foundation, visit their website by at www.polkcountycollegecc.com
